All foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport, with some visitors being required to obtain a Korean visa before their departure. Below are 111 countries whose citizens may temporarily enter without a visa according to visa exemption agreements (Table 1), or in accordance with principles of reciprocity or national interest (Table 2).

K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)

Nationals of countries/regions eligible for visa-free entry are still required to get K-ETA approval to board flights bound for the Republic of Korea. K-ETA approval must be applied for at least 72 hours prior to boarding the inbound flight. You can apply for K-ETA via the official website (www.k-eta.go.kr) or mobile app (K-ETA).

Notice on Exemption of K-ETA

Starting from 3 July 2023, the K-ETA requirement will be exempted for travelers aged 17 and under or 65 and over (based on the date of entry).

Notice on Temporary Exemption of K-ETA for 22 countries/regions

K-ETA will be temporarily exempted for travelers from the 22 countries/regions listed below, from 1 April 2023 to 31 December 2025.
